Everything changes one night when Ettie's old friend dies in an attempt to finish a job they started thirty years ago, ending in failure. After Ettie leaves on a mysterious trip, the family of her friend, the "Dirt Farmer", come into town to dig through the pieces of his life. Y/n befriends his granddaughter, the awkward yet brilliant Phoebe, and together they unearth the legacy buried in the dirt. But the things trying to pierce the veil are getting stronger, and soon the world must be saved and the deceased avenged.
