Cupid never had a chance in their messy, parental-restricted love story Karishma Jha, a twenty-one-year-old recent graduate with the world at her feet if only she chose to face it. Plagued with the worries of the future and yet healing from the scars of her past, she was yet to pay any heed to the present. She was the queen of the world of What-ifs What if I never get a job? What if I never do anything worthwhile? What if I am not here tomorrow? What if someone new moves next door? Still struggling to live one day at a time, she is hit with yet another surprise: a new neighbor, Rishabh Mehta. His arrival gives her the opportunity to take a step out of her cocooned world, to do something daring for once in her sheltered life. What if a girl with perpetually cold feet chooses to befriend a boy who lives like there is no tomorrow? When Rishabh Mehta moved to his aunt's place in Bangalore, the last thing he expected was to deal with the girl next door. Shrew, grump, ornery, he knew the many nicknames of her, except her real name. She proved true to her description when, one night, she cuts off the wire of his music system in the middle of a raging party. That was his first impression of hers. He also never expected her unrelenting efforts to befriend him. When he finally gives in, the possibility of tomorrow increases with every shared laughter and stolen glance. Will their love survive self-imposed obstacles, helicopter parents, and the two-foot gap between their balconies? Or, will it remain a fond memory to smile upon when a day gets a bit more difficult than the rest? TRIGGER WARNING: Though this story could be considered a feel-good rom-com from its cover and description, it does address certain heavy topics like illness, suicide attempts, and domestic violence. This is the continuation of the story that began with Prithvi.. (volume 1) - http://www.wattpad.com/story/5433945-prithvi-vol-1 Note posted on 5 October 2022 'Prithvi' is an ongoing story. It was in 2008 that the story began to flow through me. I continue to be as passionate about it as I was back then. However, I do not know how long it would take to be completed. I do not know how many more volumes or chapters will be required. I update chapters only once a month, and even that doesn't happen at times. But if you would still like to experience this story, please go ahead and give it a try. I hope you enjoy it reading 'Prithvi' as much as I enjoy writing it.

Featured by @Romance .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. "Why do you make these paper flowers?" He asked, looking at her through the mirror. "They don't wither like the real ones." She replied, aligning the entire bunch of paper flowers. "But they don't have the fragrance." He politely challenged her. He was a soldier. Chivalrous was his middle name. "These paper flowers, they stay with you for as long as you want. You don't really have to throw them away like people discard the real ones. They pluck them for the fragrance and colors. But once that fades, they throw it away." She said, finally looking up at him. "Not everyone!" He added almost immediately, taking one more step forward. It could be his height or his longer stride, or maybe the room was too small as it only took him two steps to reach her. "Yeah! Of course! Exceptions are there, like poets and people in love." She walked in a different direction, putting those flowers on the table. He rolled his eyes with a defeated sigh. She was a teacher. Arguing with her was as futile as making a sand castle on a seashore. "You know, gone is the era when people used to preserve the flowers of their loved ones. We don't have people like that anymore!" She said as she faced him. "We don't have that kind of love anymore." He said looking straight into her eyes. She held his gaze through the mirror for a while, trying to read through him. "I agree." Murmuring under her breath, she turned around. Taking a deep breath, watching her retreating figure, he brought out his favorite poetry book from the shelf. After he was sure she was not looking, he ruffled through the pages till he found a dried Hibiscus. The very same one which had fallen from her bag when he first saw her. With a small smile, he cautiously caressed the petals. He closed the book with a fond sigh and found her looking at him. She couldn't hold his gaze for long and looked down, crimson covering her cheeks. He shook his head with a chuckle.
