The second book after "The Shadows Behind Me", a sequel of their love. Johan and North have built a life that once felt impossible. A home. A marriage. A daughter who runs through the house with her stuffed rabbit, asks questions far too clever for her age, and loves both her fathers with a certainty that makes everything brighter. Tawan is their light. Their centre. Proof that something warm can grow from pain. But some shadows do not stay where they were left behind. When a man from North's past suddenly appears at Tawan's school, old wounds begin to open again. Anonymous documents, false accusations, and carefully placed doubts threaten not only North, but the family he has finally allowed himself to belong to. While Johan tries to hold everything together from afar, North is forced to face the fear he thought he had outgrown: the fear of not being enough. Not strong enough. Not safe enough. Not worthy enough to be the father Tawan needs. But this time, North is not alone. Because family does not mean the shadows are gone. It means someone stands beside you when they return. And sometimes love is not the thing that heals everything. Sometimes it is simply the thing that stays. If you enjoy the story, I'd genuinely appreciate votes and comments.🖤

For three years, everything between Maxky and Bas was allowed - except the truth. Closeness during photoshoots. Daily phone calls. Care that had become too natural. Glances that lingered too long. And always that one line neither of them dared to cross. Until one night, Maxky stands outside Bas' door. Holding a jacket that does not belong to Bas. With an excuse far too thin to hide why he is really there. Because sometimes love does not begin with a first glance. Sometimes it begins with the moment you finally admit that there was never nothing between two people.

Bas found Maxky once. But bringing him back was only the beginning. After everything that broke open, Maxky is no longer the same man who once stood in front of cameras and let other people decide where his edges ended. He is still careful. Still wounded in places no one can see at first glance. But something in him has shifted: he wants his life back. Not as a performance. Not as a brand. As something that belongs to him. Bas stays close - not to save him, not to control him, but to become part of the life Maxky is slowly learning to choose. A life with music, work, fear, desire, boundaries, public eyes and private mornings. A life where "stop" still matters, but so does "more". Where being seen no longer has to mean being owned. But healing quietly does not mean healing invisibly. As Maxky becomes more present again, the world begins to look at him differently. Brands return. Cameras return. Questions return. And the closer Bas and Maxky grow, the harder it becomes to keep their truth completely untouched by the stories people want to tell about them. Between stage lights, studio walls, old shadows and the fragile rhythm of a shared home, both of them have to learn what love means after rescue is no longer enough. Because staying is not the end of the story. Sometimes it is where life finally begins.

Bas only wanted a quiet weekend. A house surrounded by trees, a few friends, good food, small trips, and two days in which no one expected anything from him. Maxky coming along was not a problem. They knew each other. They liked each other. It was easy. At least, it was supposed to be. But somewhere between walks to the lake, a shared room, lingering glances and touches that could almost be accidental, something begins to shift. Bas realises that Maxky's closeness soothes him - and unsettles him in equal measure. Maxky, in turn, notices more than Bas means to show, yet remains careful enough not to push. While their friends have already seen what is growing between them, Bas and Maxky are still trying to convince themselves that none of this was planned. Maybe it wasn't. But some things do not need to be planned to become real. A romantic Thai BL short novel about slow-burn intimacy, friendship, uncertainty, and the moment when accidental closeness becomes a choice.

Bas knew how to stand under stage lights without giving too much away. Maxky knew how to smile for cameras without truly being seen. When Maxky was pushed into a singing project that didn't smell of choice but of a plan, he ended up - of all people - with Bas: an artist who set boundaries instead of using them. In the studio, something took shape that neither of them had expected: not sudden closeness, but a steady rhythm. Pauses that were allowed. Looks that didn't demand anything. A space where "stop" wasn't a problem, but a right. Bas held that space until Maxky slowly began to understand that a voice doesn't only sound - it can carry you, too, if you don't twist it out of shape. And the more Maxky was allowed to be himself in the studio, the clearer it became how expensive that was out in the world. Because what grows quietly rarely goes unnoticed. Outside, people read stories into moments - stories that sold better than the truth. And while Maxky was pulled back and back again, Bas learned a different kind of fear: the fear of not being allowed to lose someone - without trying to hold on too tightly. Then Maxky disappeared. And Bas was left with the feeling that sometimes you only understand what someone means to you when they're no longer there.

In Chiang Mai, Johan has built a life that runs on precision and control - a life that looks safe from the outside. Then North steps into it: warm, unguarded, steadfast. With him, the world softens. With him, Johan can breathe. But something begins to shift. A call from an unknown number. A message that knows far too much. A thread from the past that should never have reached this far - and a name Johan thought he'd buried for good: Tinn. The harder Johan tries to keep North close, the clearer it becomes: this isn't about money, or power. It's about the one thing that makes Johan vulnerable. About love. About North. A dark, intense boys' love romance about protection and helplessness, guilt and loyalty - and what happens when the light in you is exactly what someone wants to break.
