But the Hydra are everywhere, and falling in love with an assassin is not the most constructive thing to do, but is it really her choice to choose who she falls in love with? This story includes slight smut and mentions of rape and abuse (don't worry, the abusers and perpetrators get punished accordingly). Bucky Barnes starts to remember his life before he became the Winter Soldier. After the events of Washington, he had wanted to run away and hide. He knew people would come looking for him, especially Hydra and the Avengers. Hidden away in a remote town, on the outskirts of Maine, Bucky tries to live a simple life without drawing attention to himself. She had moved in to the apartment across from him, playing the friendly neighbour, which was a feat in itself. Lexi was never considered a friendly type of person. It was her mission, to help keep him safe, recover his past, and obtain any Hydra information. She makes sure to bump into him, while shopping for groceries, introducing herself, but she finds he's very closed off and guarded. Can she get through to him, or will he up and run again? When Hydra operatives come crashing through their complex, Lexi must make the choice, to stand and fight, or run. Will the two work together?
