So when a new threat rises, they have to learn to work together again and save what's left of their beloved home. This is an apocalyptic ninjago fan fiction. It's been almost a year since Nya left the team and merged with the sea. Ever since then Kai and Jay have not been the same. None of the ninjas have. But most of the others had learned to move past it. While Kai and Jay still have their moments of Grieving. Wu was worried about them. She could tell that they still were affected by her "death". Though she was still physically alive, the Nya they knew was no longer there; the Nya they loved was dead. But Wu's worries only grew when he left one day to go do his smoke visions in a more quiet and peaceful place. The other ninja had left to go do some work in Ninjago city while Kai and Jay stayed behind. The two boys recently have been near each other often. They seemed to be discussing something but none of the others would know what. As one of the others comes over they keep their mouths shut. Wu sat by the fire and meditated. How he would love to be able to see what has been going on in the two students' heads, but there was no possible way of doing so. He hummed as his smoke visions started to appear. Everyone was as happy as could be as expected but then the visions slowly started to darken... He awoke again with a small burst of panic but quickly calmed down, he knew to keep them safe. He had to prevent them from whatever they might be trying to do... Little did he know... he was already too late. What did Wu see? What is Jay and kai planning? And who may They be?

It was three months later when everything got turned on its head. Now there are rifts appearing out of nowhere, her portal is destroyed, and her brother is about to do something he'll never be able to take back. It was three years and everything was falling apart. His world is in ruins, he's alone and running for his life, there's a war going on, he hasn't seen the sun in months, and the kid he's been taking care of went nuts and is trying to tear apart the dimensions A sequel to Desert Kings! This won't make any sense unless you've read Desert Kings! (Like 0 sense, at all)

Dark Sides is a Role Reversal AU series in which Wu was bitten by the Great Devourer instead of Garmadon. Wu still ends up training Kai, Jay, Zane, and Cole as his students. In response, Sensei Garmadon trains Nya, Pixal, Seliel, and Skylor (all elemental masters), and both sides are pitted against each other.
