Three years after the events of The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, Coriolanus Snow has risen through the Capitol's political ranks, driven by a fierce ambition to reshape the future of the Hunger Games. Now an intern under Dr. Volumnia Gaul, Snow is on track to become Game Maker and, eventually, President of Panem. Under the firm leadership of newly appointed President Tom Blackwood, the Capitol remains firmly in control, but the pressure to maintain that dominance is mounting. Snow sees the upcoming 13th Hunger Games as his chance to solidify his power and secure his future.
Everything changes, however, when Lucy Gray Baird, the victor of the 10th Hunger Games, mysteriously reappears to perform at the Games. Coriolanus reconnects with Lucy Gray as old wounds are reopened, and his past resurfaces. In the midst of this, he uncovers a deadly conspiracy buried deep within the Capitol. As he uncovers the truth, he is framed for a crime he didn't commit. Forcing Coriolanus to fight to clear his name or abandoning everything he worked for. As the stakes grow higher, Snow's path toward redemption begins, but can he overcome his dark past, or will the Capitol's grip on him prove too strong?
