For Chester and his golden retriever Sunny, life is loud, chaotic, and full of anxiety. For Mike and his german shepherd Tank, it's quiet, calm, and orderly. Their worlds are turned upside down when their dogs begin a fierce, devoted romance, leaving the two humans to stumble through an awkward friendship that feels more and more like it's heading somewhere wonderful.

Mike's world is one of quiet, boring order. A predictable refuge from his past that shatters when his best friend, Joe, drags him into the one place he vowed to avoid: the spotlight. Thrust into a lavish community theater production, Mike is forced into a relentless and infuriatingly captivating rehearsal with his co-star, Chester.
