The story follows the main character Elizabeth Bennet as she deals with issues of manners, upbringing, morality, education, and marriage in the society of the landed gentry of early 19th-century England. Elizabeth is the second of five daughters of a country gentleman living near the fictional town of Meryton in Hertfordshire, near London.

I believe that life is defined by moments. Not just one or two, not a handful, but millions of moments. You know, when I think back, I always wish that that nurse in the emergency room would have closed the door just five seconds earlier. Because then, I would not have seen how her heart had stopped beating. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Christopher Wilson knows what he wants. He wants to be 21, so that he does not have to beg his sister to buy him alcohol. He wants to become a worldwide sensation with his music. He wants his bandmates to finally graduate High School, so that they can move to New York together. He wants to sell out Madison Square Garden. Christopher Wilson wants a lot of things. But what happens when he meets Rebecca? A girl who does not seem to understand a single one of his wishes, but for some reason can get a beer in the local shop without being 21.
