It's been 7 years since the Battle of Hogwarts, the year 2005, and Draco Malfoy is at the heart of a social controversy. The Blood Purist families who remain see him as a traitor, and the heroes of the War see him the way they always have.
So what can he do to fix this?
Befriend and work with none other than Hermione Granger. She's a hero of the war, and a Justicar for muggleborn and magical creature rights. Draco hates what his family did during the war, their cowardice made him look bad, it made his family look bad. And what better way to show that he has changed than by befriending the very woman he tormented all those years ago?
There is only one problem. Well, three.
First problem; Hermione probably HATES him. So, how is he supposed to get close enough to her to change anything? How can he earn her trust? How does he make her even tolerate him?
Next problem; "The Pureblood Temperance League". Made of remnants of blood purists and possible Death Eaters, it has finally got footing in The Ministry of Magic as a legitimate cause (helping the remaining members of The "Sacred 28" come to terms with the new era, aka rehab for Death Eaters/Blood Purists). And they've made it their mission to vilify his family even further.
And finally, Aliye Selwyn, with her deep black hair and all-knowing eyes. Hermione's friend and MoM colleague, she is a woman who is a verified pureblood princess (if she ever wanted to be), and she isn't his fan either. She had been in France for schooling, a non Death Eater branch of the Selwyns. In the past few years, they came back into prominence in England, and Aliye has caught the attention of The League. She was their perfect mascot, and maybe... Their perfect vessel?
What ever could a young Malfoy do with two women and a bunch of Death Eaters? Well, he's glad you asked.
*I own none of these characters except for Aliye and her family; That honour goes to J.K. Rowling.*
