I'd say it is more on the forceful side, especially with the vampire-setting, and the vampire may act questionable and egocentric. Also, depression and I'd say a suicidal tendency do come up (briefly) because of these thoughtless interactions. And, uh, "Stockholm Syndrome" was mentioned, but also in the context of an overall enjoyable read. - Finished story. There are two sequels. The dialogues are partly 1:1 from the book but with additional thoughts of Hua Cheng. This changes of course his character as he isn't as calm as he appears from Xie Lian's perspective. He is overthinking, is overwhelmed by his feelings sometimes and fangirling quite a lot. I mean...come on he is in love with his crush for so many years. And he also has some fantasies. So there will be some smut, but nothing too explicit. And no, I will not make him a pervert, he is not doing it with the statues.
