{Sequel to Elisabeth Marie} "There are SEVEN of you?" I asked again, not really believing. "Yeah," he replied, grinning. "You got a problem with that?" *** A little over a year ago, I didn't dare to dream of going outside. I certainly never would have thought that I would end up in a city that I knew virtually nothing about and absolutely no one, a complete stranger. Yet here I was. *Formerly titled 'Who's the Fairest'?* ******************** Copyright © 2015 by Holly Ruth || Hollyruth All rights reserved. The temperature dropped, and, shivering, Story stood and turned slowly around. A massive polar bear towered over her, his mouth twisted into an animalistic grin. “You’re sick, Geamhradann.” “I’m so glad you remember me.” The Winter King sat down on his haunches and licked one of his dinner plate sized paws clean of drying silver blood. “And I’m feeling quite well, thank you very much.” Story rubbed her hands over her arms against the freezing wind. She couldn’t feel her feet any longer, and though her head told her to run, she knew it was no good. Geamhradann would catch her as soon as she moved. She looked around for a weapon, a rock, a chunk of ice, anything to throw at him to force him to break his concentration and therefore loosen his hold on her in the dreamscape, so she could wake up. “You should know better, half-blood. You can’t hurt me here.” Story must face an evil greater than any she’s encountered before. As darkness looms over Ailionora, Story, her companions, and all of the races of Ailionora band together to fight for their very survival. “Spendlove acknowledges authors Michael Stackpole and Aaron Allston in her book. Her writing style mirrors the easy readability of those two master wordsmiths, where the words flow and the characters don’t make you stop and wonder why they are doing something. The tale just feels believable and the characters relatable.” -Tricia Barr, FANgirl Blog

Shawna Roberts is the girl that every guy turns to when they need a fake date, a fake girlfriend, a fake fling to make some other girl jealous, a fake couple photo to send to their parents... Shawna's pretty much seen it all. But no matter what they pay her for, everything she does has one common factor: it's all fake. That doesn't make being their paid girl much easier, though. Adam Ferrell is the campus heartthrob with the appearance of a god, an ego the size of Canada, and worshiped by everyone to monumentally ridiculous proportions. In Shawna's mind, it's a miracle his head fits through his shirt every morning. Yet despite their instant dislike for one another, Adam and Shawna each need what the other can offer. When Adam unexpectedly pushes into Shawna's life with a business deal, she's torn between her feelings and her sense of duty, which protects a secret she has kept for years, from even those closest to her. And as the two begrudgingly get to know each other, masks start slipping and secrets come spilling out, forcing each of them to confront some of their darkest moments and deepest fears.

I looked down at the cars on the road and the people way down on the sidewalk. They looked like they were having fun.... I mentally slapped myself. "No," I said aloud. "You like it up here," I told myself, trying to smother the little spark inside of me that I knew wanted to just jump right off the balcony. __________________________________________________________ According to Mother, the only time that I ever left this apartment was when I was born in a hospital a few blocks away. My entire world view is limited to whatever I can see from our 37th story penthouse, which, honestly, isn't much. Mother thought that she controlled every aspect of my life. She was wrong. *formerly titled 'Let Down Your Hair'* ******************** Copyright © 2013 by Holly Ruth || Hollyruth If you see anyone copying this book, please let me know by a private message on wattpad. The gates were closed, which was surprising. There were people coming in and out every few minutes, weren't there? It would have made more sense just to leave them open. Maybe it was a security thing. I gave up the thought and started looking for something that would open the gates. Finally I found a black box, which I hesitantly spoke into. "I'm here for the ball," I said. They were my first words in a few hours. I wasn't a fan of talking to strangers, which meant that my voice had gone unused for most of the night. The box crackled into commission. "The ball?" The person on the other end of the line chuckled and the gates stayed shut. "The ball started about twelve hours ago and ended eight or nine hours after that. Everyone already left." The sound turned back into a fuzzy static. "A few hours ago? What?" *** I wasn't even supposed to be at the ball to begin with. It should have been Char. But Lanelle Taylor had forbidden her to attend, and Char had insisted that I go in her place. And now I was late to the ball- twelve hours late- and had broken Mom's necklace. And probably my ankle. And Char's dress. Was it even possible to break a dress? If it was, I had definitely done it. So far the night was going wonderfully.
