Prologue - The Memory Between Us They said time would heal her. But two years later, Ling was still staring out the glass window of her penthouse, fingers wrapped around a cold mug of coffee she never finished. CEO. Heiress. Fiancée to a ghost. Her world ended once... And then again, when she was forced to marry someone who wasn't even hers to begin with. The vows weren't meant for her. The dress wasn't either. But the name on the marriage certificate? Ling Ling Kwong. And the bride beside her? Orm. Her sister's fiancée. It was supposed to be temporary. A contract. Just one year to protect the family name and walk away. But no one told her love doesn't follow contracts. And no one warned her how cruel memory could be. Because just when Ling finally opened her heart again... Orm forgot everything. Forgot their laughter. Their fights. Their promises. Forgot her. And now, Ling wasn't sure she had the strength to lose her all over again. DISCLAIMER This story is purely fictional. It has no connection to real-life events, individuals, or entities, whether living or deceased. Any similarities are purely coincidental and unintentional. It was supposed to be simple: a contract, a couple of eggs, and zero emotional entanglements. Orm never planned to fall for Lingling Kwong-the effortlessly elegant, frustratingly absent billionaire who became her wife on paper and disappeared before their daughters was born. Seven years later, Orm's world flips when her daughter's kindergarten meltdown reveals a shocking twist: Milk has a twin. And their other mommy? Lingling. Back. Gorgeous as ever. And dead set on being a mother-and a wife-again. As Lingling reenters their lives with ice cream, swing-set diplomacy, and an infuriating smile, Orm is forced to relive the heartbreak of their tangled past. But Lingling's not giving up-not on her daughters, and not on Orm. Because this time, she isn't offering a contract. She's offering forever.

18+ ONLY. This story contains mature themes and explicit smut. Read at your own risk. Contentedly single and successful at 30, Lingling has built her perfect life after overcoming hardship. Marriage? No thanks. Dating? A nuisance her meddling best friends keep forcing on her (as she's the only single person left in her group of friends). She just wants to support them, especially Lookmhee on her wedding day. But fate-and maybe Lookmhee-has other plans, leading to a clumsy bouquet standoff with a captivating ash-blonde woman. Lingling thinks she's escaped the matchmaking trap, only to agree to babysit Lookmhee's cousin... who turns out to be the very same woman she accidentally fought over flowers with. Maybe fate, and her best friends, know best after all? A/N: So, I began writing this story while in Thailand last week. It's my first trip out of the country (where I'm residing) and I was writing this because I was a bit disappointed when I couldn't see any LingOrm billboard ads during my first day (only saw one, the Ichitan one in Chiangmai and it was my last day) 🤧 So yeah, to make myself better, I wrote this out of nowhere but it's still unfinished...though I plan to continue writing this but no idea how this story will turn out. The story is typical but yeah I was needing distraction at that moment so I didn't really care. Anyway, I should prolly stop being a silent fan and meet other JKRs so I knew where to spot LingOrm ads the next time I'll travel back to Thailand HAHA.

Or does it simply wait... like the rain? Starring: lingling kwong and Orm kornnaphat Don't copy or adapt without permission

In the golden halls of the royal palace, where polished smiles hide knives and every word is a calculated move, Princess Orm plays her part - warm, naive to some, but quietly drowning under the weight of her fractured family. Her father rules through fear and politics, her mother dotes only on her golden son, and every "friend" she meets either wants her power or fears the consequences of knowing her too well. Behind her practiced smile, she's alone - desperate for real connection, but too cautious to trust anyone. Enter Ling, the cold, sharp-tongued outsider everyone whispers about but no one dares to confront. Raised in the palace since childhood, invited to every royal ceremony yet kept at arm's length, she knows only this: her mother died giving birth to her, and her father was a close friend of the king - a convenient explanation that never fully made sense. With biting humor and fierce loyalty to the few who earn it, she fights daily to carve a place for herself in a world that refuses to let her belong. Their paths have always collided - the princess, with her gentleness and subtle sadness; the noble, with her bitterness masked as indifference. Both convinced the other has the life they crave. Both resenting the other's existence. Both irrevocably wrong. But when buried secrets rise - when whispers of war, bloodlines, and betrayal threaten to unravel the court - they'll discover their shared hatred is built on carefully constructed lies. The noble's true identity is far from what she's been told. Everything they know shatters - loyalty, identity, even the feelings simmering just beneath their constant battles. Enemies by design, drawn together by something neither fully understands. In a palace built on deception, can love survive when the truth finally claws its way to the surface? Or will they destroy each other before the walls come down?
