Annabeth è una comune ragazza, come tante altre nel mondo. Be'... non è proprio vero. Nessuno è perfettamente uguale a qualcun'altro. Nonostante abbia un passato, e una vita, complicata, Annabeth va avanti ogni giorno. Grazie anche ad una canzone. "River Flows In You" violin version, è uno dei suoi pezzi preferiti, e lo ascolta tutti i giorni. Per lei è speciale. Soprattutto visto che è suonata con il suo strumento preferito, il violino. Non l'ha mai fatta ascoltare a nessuno. Mai. Teme che non capiscano la magia del pezzo, o che la consumino. Fino a quando, un giorno, arriva un ragazzo nuovo. Un ragazzo molto speciale. Anche lui ama quella canzone, solo la versione originale, ovvero suonata col pianoforte. Percy ha subito notato Annabeth, e se n'è inconsapevolmente innamorato. Quando un pomeriggio la vede che ascolta la musica con gli auricolari, seduta su una panchina del parco, non resiste e le si avvicina.
