Anika is thirteen years old, and lives in the quiet country town Millwood, with her little sister marcy and her dad Roy, Anika suffers from deep depression, due to the death of her loving Mother who suffered from cancer, It was just another day when it happened, dark and miserable, that was until the unexpecting sight of an injured black bird changed everything.
