Celebrating the small moments in life that can easily be forgotten and yet when lived are the most magical and therefore well worth recording. From 'Sacred Cow': Gippsland spring seep into my skin moments of osmosis, pixelate and photon in. From 'The Orange Tree' Don't pull them off, I instruct, roll. Rolling works with the inclination of the tree she will give up herself more willingly. From 'Rosellas Gleaning' They bow heads, curl beaks under then draw up and back like fishermen winding in a catch. The analogy particularly apt because they nibble and chatter ceaselessly like prattling reels.

'Festina Lente' is the Latin phrase. The headmaster, of the grammar school I went to as a boy, once uttered it in my direction as I skidded round a corner of a corridor like Charlie Chaplin. He never raised his voice except in assembly since he kept a cane or two in his office. I heard that phrase again in the wind, in the flapping of drying autumn leaves. October and November (and indeed December, still technically autumn up to the 20th} are countries of their own.

The idea behind this 99 Poem Challenge group project is to build a folder of poems that are all completely different in style . The challenge is also to complete within a year and to be inspired and inspire others to try new styles. Within each poem itself there is a basic description of its type or style and any specific rules involved. Special thanks to @cristinaaragon for the cover design.

i love the challenge of form poetry, especially the invented poetry types. it excites me to see what my words do to a form and vice versa. i love my personal stamp on it, because there it is, no matter what, one's very own distinct voice. i have wanted these in a separate collection for a long time and here it is.

ASPECTS OF LOVE By Strider Marcus Jones~Publisher http:www.lulu.com~Book Poetry http://www.amazon.co.uk/Aspects-Love-Strider-Marcus-Jones/dp/1409231356/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1412193827&sr=1-1 This held my heart and mind and body in thrall Review on Amazon Books By Colm Herron on 28 Sep 2014 Format: Paperback Verified Purchase This remarkable collection of poems about sexual love begins explosively, some might say orgasmically, with a short poem called Midnight Bouquet. And all the way through these packed pages to the words Who cares? I do, I For you, dark hair, almond eyes, wet-warm it held my heart, my body and my mind in thrall. In many ways Strider Marcus Jones is a modern-day Gerard Manley Hopkins (that coined word WET-WARM is one of many many examples). Except that Hopkins was a gentle and devout Catholic priest penned in by his vow of chastity and fear of sex and qualms about his sexual orientation and Jones is a modern man who has no inhibitions about putting down on paper the sheer beauty of sexual love. Hopkins was sensuous rather than sensual, a man who sublimated his sexual energy into his genuine love of God and nature and conservation to write many of the most beautiful and revolutionary poems in the history of literature. Jones on the other hand is both sensual and sensuous and shows us the joys and heartaches of love with every fibre of his considerable poetic talent.

Winter Trails is an album of my poems, journeying through late fall when the wire of the trees begins to dominate, till the end of January. After promoting it and it soaring to three quarter million reads, Wattpad unceremoniously dumped it. Here it still is though.
