The Ice King has always been an outcast. He's can never be in the land of Ooo without annoying someone. He's not wanted because he's always talking about finding a Princess to call his own. After Simon Petrikov is successful in his ritual to reunite with his beloved Betty, he is sent to a universe where Betty grew up around a different crowd and didn't go to college, meaning she never met Simon in her world, thus she became a Popstar instead.
