I clutched the gun to my chest. The blood on my hands, outfit and hair knotted with it. The body stared up at her, mocking her. I finished the job. But why did I feel so empty. The assignment was to kill the target, not everyone that I did. But they always said whatever it takes to get the job done. I killed people for a living. I was good at what I did... He was vulnerable; I stepped on his feet and watched as he yelped in pain. I reached for the gun on the mantle behind me. I cocked the gun, the safety clicked off. "Liza?" His voice was weak and frightened. "Please." He was always a good actor. His eyes were betraying his words. They were dark with vengeance and fury. His body lunged towards me. I pulled the trigger, hearing a noise echo in my ears. I dropped the gun on the ground. My feet slowly dragged my body over to Liam's body.
