Giyu tomioka is the current water hashira who has suffered enough pain more than anyone in his childhood but if that wasn't enough his fellow hashiras also tortured him with painful words for not being a social person. Their words always hurt his feelings badly but he never let's it get to them, He keeps his true feelings suppressed and tries to remain strong everyday however it still affected him. Now during one of his missions giyu tomioka encounters an upper-moon demon who nearly ends his life but in that very moment all the painful memories of his life flashes before him which awakens something completely unexpected within the quiet and lone water pillar.

"Giyuu-sama!" Aoi's voice broke through the tension, filled with relief as she hurried to Kanao's side, carefully cradling her. "The sun is almost up! We just need to...to..." Her words caught in her throat, her breath hitching as she looked up at Giyuu. He turned to face her, and what she saw made her blood run cold. Giyuu's eyes-once deep, round pools of blue that looked like a calm ocean-were now sharp, vertical slits, glowing with an unnatural light. Aoi's heart pounded in her chest, the realization crashing over her like a wave. The man who had fought so valiantly to protect them, who had refused to give in even when the odds were against him... was now one of them. "No..." she whispered, her voice trembling. "It can't be..." But the truth was undeniable. Giyuu was no longer human. He was a demon. ----- I finally protected someone." Tomioka Giyuu had always kept to himself. Not once has he ever mixed his personal life with his work life. Because of this, many of the Hashiras were led to believe that he was too stuck up and egoistic and avoided them because he believed they were on different levels. That isn't the case, though. You see, five years ago, Giyuu came across a woman with a child. He failed to save that woman as she passed away from blood loss. This woman, however, entrusted her newborn daughter to him. He didn't want the girl to be injured. He didn't want to associate her in any way with the demon slayers. This girl was placed under his care, and he's grown to love her. This time, he won't lose his loved one to a demon. No demon will lay their hands on her. She will never live to fear a demon, and for that, she will never live to know about a demon's existence. This takes place in a more modern time cause there is no way I'm researching history and life back then every five minutes.

Giyuu met kagutsuchi when he was found horribly injured, then kagutsuchi brought him towards his home and healed him and after some talking between the two, sparks just happened. Also giyuu and kagutsuchi are married, just wanna to point that out and kagutsuchi also knows Water breathing from giyuu along with two other breaths, first meaning Sun breathing as the oldest and another breath he came up with on his own. So in total he knows three breathing techines, and the kamados know about demons since giyuu told them once they met and gave them wisteria flowers for them to plant all over their house from every angle so that demons wouldn't enter, the entire village is covered by wisteria trees as well. So first alive kamado family for this story plot plus the father and kagutsuchi knows sword fighting obviously so that in case he ever comes in contact with a demon then he'll be prepared and at times he helps giyuu when he's sent out on missions also they made sure that giyuu's crow wouldn't expose kagutsuchi to the other hashiras and master.
