ENDS ON A CLIFFHANGER (Book 1) When assassins and ex-lovers, Eliana and Reid reunite under unusual circumstances they must try and work together to take down the organisation that took away their childhood and ruined their relationship. ... "You can hate me all you want, Eliana. You can convince yourself that I'm the worst human being on this fucking planet, but it doesn't change how much I love you, how much I've always loved you. There is no one on this planet who I have loved as fiercely as I have loved you!" He throws his hands up in the air, frustration clear on his face and I swallow hard having to look away from his intense gaze. "But you left," I whisper meekly feeling my guard crumble bit by bit. The silence between me and Reid is tense. The way we look at each other has my heart pounding in my chest and my breath stuttering. There's a metre between us and Reid's chest heaves as he tries to calm down. "You left, Reid." I croak, my eyes burning with tears and his face softens. He closes the space between us and cradles my face in between his large, soft, tattooed hands, leaning down to rest his forehead against mine, his eyes fluttering shut. "And I'll never leave you again, Eliana. Death would have to take me before I left you, baby."
