When I was a kid, I grew up thinking that the world was full of pain; everyone got it, and everyone gave it. It made sense to me, so I went with it. Then, once I was forced to start school, I learned that was not the case.
Some people didn't get pain. They would hit other kids and would not have anything done to them in return. They would go through life, hurting others, but would barely get even a hit back in return.
Then, there were other people who would go through their whole life getting beat down, every turn they chose, even when they didn't deserve it. They wouldn't fight back, no, they couldn't fight back. So, they went through their whole life in misery.
Or maybe, both groups went through their lives in misery. And I lived somewhere in both.
