❝𝐒𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬. 𝐇𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐟 𝐢𝐭'𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥.❞ Kathryn Marks is all impulsive charm and sun-warmed skin, freshly dumped and flat broke after her sorority trip falls apart. Sonny Kimball is her older brother's best friend - uptight, infuriating, and tagging along at the family's Lake Alpine cabin to study for the Bar exam after getting unceremoniously dumped himself. They were never meant to spend the summer together. But now they're stuck under the same roof, with too many grudges, too few bedrooms, and one strict rule from Kate's brother, Adam: don't kill each other. What starts as mutual loathing begins to twist into something far more dangerous. The arguments get closer. The silences heavier. And one kiss turns into something they can't unthink, can't undo, and definitely can't tell Adam about. And while Kathryn seemingly operates on rejecting emotions other than rage, Sonny craves feeling. The two draw a line in the sand. She wants something hate-fueled and hot, he wants something sweet and tender. It could never work... until it does - and it risks ruining every family dynamic they've ever known. Because hating each other was easy. But wanting each other? That's the real problem. #23 in #brothersbestfriend 8.27.25

"𝘽𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙣𝙚𝙬𝙨 - today, August 25th, 1997, another missing persons was reported in the town of Lost Lamb, North Carolina. The victim is 16-year-old Sabrina Sullivan, who was visiting Persimmon National Park with family at the time of her disappearance. Despite being in close-proximity to her parents when she went missing, there were no witnesses at the scene. Currently, there is no evidence to suggest foul play. Her mysterious vanishment has re-sparked concerns over what locals of Lost Lamb have deemed "Forest 411", or Persimmon (National) Park. This nickname is survived by the twenty-five other unsolved missing persons cases that have been traced back to the area. 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐚𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐒𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐧, 𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐋𝐚𝐦𝐛 𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲." That was twenty years ago, and thirteen other people have gone missing in Persimmon National Park since. Men, women, children, and the elderly have vanished under strange circumstances in Lost Lamb, without a thread of similarity to tie them together. In regard to those who have disappeared, all the cases share only two aspects: every person vanished in the woods, and all their cases remain unsolved. Detective Redmond 'Red' Sullivan has returned to the small Carolina town after a twenty year absence, desperate for answers. He isn't leaving until he finds out what happened to his cousin on that idyllic summer's day, two decades ago. The trouble is, the thing that lurks inside Forest 411 has been waiting for Red for twenty years.

Too bold, too sharp, too dangerous in a miniskirt. And she's never apologized for any of it. 𝙈𝙚𝙢𝙥𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙈𝙤𝙧𝙜𝙖𝙣, on the other hand, was the town's golden boy. Southern manners, a clean record, and a last name that opened doors - especially since his father was the sheriff. He was everything Cherry couldn't stand: polished, privileged, and infuriatingly polite. But what she never knew? He spent half his youth watching her, wishing he was brave enough to touch chaos with both hands. Years later, Cherry's still stuck in the same dead-end town, now haunted by grief and bitterness after the mysterious death of her brother. She spends her nights under the hood of broken-down cars and behind the counter of the Quik Mart, holding herself together with stubborn pride and Diet Coke. Then one night, Memphis shows up on her doorstep - bloodied, staggering, and barely conscious. And suddenly, he's not the golden boy anymore. He's unraveling. And he's asking for her. --- #3 in #southerngothic 8.15.25 #6 in #corruption 8.2.25 #7 in #enemieswithbenefits 7.28.25 #5 in #temptation 10.14.25
