The plague of the witch's reign ended nearly two centuries ago, their age of power over the realm of Vytelor finally ceasing at the hands of the royal family. Throughout the eighty-year war, they managed to find the witch's weaknesses, they learned where their magic stemmed from, and with their armies strategized a way to make it end. A way to slaughter the most powerful of them, and force the rest into surrender. The Kendrick family then formulated a plan. A witch's magic is an important element with many uses, many of which the people agreed that they couldn't live without. They couldn't eradicate them completely. Spells of protection, enchantments that provide the body with warmth in snow, or sigils cast into the skin to bring luck or health. Their ability to tap into one's soul. To see one as one's most sincere self, and even go as far as reaching to discover one's soul bond, one's truest match. Such abilities couldn't go to waste regardless of the potential danger. Their use was priceless, and they had become easy enough to control under the right hand. Discipline and restraints were enough to keep their anger and vengeance from turning into anything truly harmful. Thus, the royals set out an order for containment instead. Grimoires filled with history and knowledge were collected and burned, save for a select few. Something similar happened with the witches themselves. Witches of the new generation grew up lacking knowledge of how to tap into their potential and were, from there, deemed no threat. These witches were sold off to me, no more than help in a homestead to those who could afford them. Those few that were picked and permitted to wield their magic were trained solely in the art of what the kingdom wanted them for. No more, and no less. Now was the time for Prince Elias to take his throne, but first must come to he ceremony with a witch to find who his soul's bond is. Followed by a hunt with his men to find her, and make her his Queen.

The path fate lays before us is often many years in the making, and the tale of the Phoenix and the God-spawn is no different. Nearly 3,000 years before the war that would bring about Astaroth's defeat, another battle was waged to ensure there would be a future to fight for. Duty has been thrust upon Prince Azael Cadhael for centuries, first by filling the role of an uncrowned King, but his true story begins as all royal stories do: with a ball, a secret, and a peculiar dream. When Azael overhears the whispered plans of his betrothed and her twin brother to leave with the Phoenix on a goddess-given quest, he must surrender to a new type of duty entirely. Navigating his ever increasingly strained relationship with Tissaia Lochren while striving to save the future of his kingdom isn't a job easily done, and her closeness with the Phoenix, Kaius, certainly doesn't make it any easier. Tissaia has spent years in the shadows of her own failure and her father's wrath. Kaius's quest offers her and her brother Talarion a chance to claim their freedom at long last, but fighting ones' past can be just as deadly as fighting an armed foe, especially if that past isn't keen on backing down. If they're going to succeed, all four of them must learn to recognize the power in truth and bared secrets, as well as the strength in kinship. If they fail, it could mean the doom of all Asterria for an age. But if they succeed, perhaps fate will be kinder than they have been led to believe. For thousands of years, the citizens of Asterria have lived at odds with the reclusive Clans who dwell within the Mountains of Donoa, and in recent times the tension has begun to erupt. An act of self defense which led to two lives lost spurred hostility on both sides, and a vindictive witch seeking revenge for the life of her slain kin invoked a dark curse upon Asterria's twin Princes. Now, two centuries past, Kyran and Konan Renhael have lived in fear of the manifestation of their curse as tensions continue to rise. The Clans have been lashing out with increasing aggression and most fear open attacks will soon follow, but as dark impulses and blooded bodies begin to follow in the Princes' wake, it is clear the Clans are not their only concern. In an effort to find a way to break the curse before it is too late, Kyran travels to a Clan village seeking the Matrons, the same circle of witches as the one who originally cursed him and his brother. There he meets the wild and cunning Ylva, one of the heads of the Matron order. Working his way into her good graces could get him closer to finding a way to break the curse, or ensnare him in a new one entirely. Either way, only one thing remains certain. Failure will leave Asterrians drowning in blood, and mark the dawn of another Dark Age. Warning: This book, while being a work of fiction, still deals with real and mature elements. *now complete* Bad fae. As though there's such a thing as a good fae. Since the fae were exiled from their Otherworld to the human world, Aegrath has been a continent under precarious truce. Hatred runs deep for the atrocities committed in the war following the Return. So, what did this hybrid bastard princess decide to do? Yeah, steal from the arrogant arseholes. My escape nearly ends in an execution when a dark fae assassin decides to save my life. Now that life belongs to Dain of the Voidsworn under magical geas. The fae responsible for killing the only people I had ever loved. He owns me. He controls me. He hates me. He craves me. But no less than I hate and crave him in return, as obsession flares between us. He would destroy the whole world for me, as long as we don't destroy each other first. Is this merely Fate's cruel idea of a joke or is there some other reason the Goddess has forced the two of us together? As my connection to my darkling fae side grows stronger, truths come to light that have the very real power to topple the fragile peace holding Aegrath from the brink of another war. And Dain and I have no choice but to stand against them all together. For fans of Sarah J. Maas and Holly Black. These are not the fairies of your childhood. They are dark and dirty, and sooner kill you as love you. They might even kill you because they fell in love with you. They do nothing unless it suits them, and they will steal your heart.

Love. Hate. The two will not be separated. The Darkrealm has claimed its queen and so has Dain, but that doesn't mean we like each other. We are bound closer than many other fae are ever shackled with. Our days are filled with fighting - others as much as each other - and our nights with passion and love. And amid Feyrith's insistence we placate the other courts with my loyalty, the Shaden demand Dain and I...date. Ugh. Apparently, it's not good enough to be in love. Now we have to fall in like as well. Our friends have placed yet another bond on us in the form of geas that we'll work on it. They control us. He controls me. I am getting some measure of control over him now. But no amount of external control can stop truths coming to light, stop the darkness from extinguishing all that's good in our lives. When a member of the Shaden and Dain's gaol gets taken from us, the prisoner fights for its freedom and I might be the only one who can him. I'm nothing. A bastard no one trusts or likes or wants. But I will have to accept my heritage and my destiny if I want to keep the fae I might be starting to like.
