Facing the most powerful man in the Lands armed with nothing but a sword and the hope that she could prevail, was not the direction Akira saw her life going in. After witnessing her family's death she had stayed away from it all, living in hiding. Yet when she discovers that her dragon is a Dragon of Legend and together they are to challenge Haiden, the ruler of the dark Lands, her life plummets into chaos. Taken in by the Academy, where young dragon riders are trained to fight, she must rise up and prove herself worthy of the name of the 'Rider of Legend'. Yet as Akira finds out, fighting for an almost hopeless cause when no one believes in you, is not easy. With all odds stacked against them, Akira and her dragon must fight for their own lives as well as try to fulfill all expectations and free the Lands from a tyrant's rule once and for all.

No one ever said what would happen when dragons and aliens meet. And no one told me that I would be in the middle of it. Tasha was studying hard to get through her last year of university when she was kidnapped. She certainly didn't expect to wake up with four feet and wings. Mad scientists are bad enough, but things get even more complicated when aliens appear and wipe out the human race. Is there a way for her to hide her true identity in this new world while retaining her humanity? --------------------- Sneak Peek: I jumped over the lip of the tray and beat down hard with my wings. I had expected to only slow my fall; I had not expected to end up gaining so much height. I squawked in surprise and spread my wings wide in alarm before gravity regained its hold on me. With several awkward back-winging motions of my wings, I landed lightly on the floor. Well, at least I know my wings work. I glanced at the man in the corner as he was scribbling quick notes. I turned around to regard the tray again. They say practice makes perfect. With another hop and a single wingbeat, I managed to land in the sand tray with fanned wings slowing my momentum. That was much more graceful. But a wing-assisted hop wasn't true flight. And I still wasn't on the windowsill. ---------------------------- Entire semi-polished draft can be read on Wattpad. "The Prophecy may say you are a hero, but you'll never be what the universe needs to survive." Cloud Star has always known he was different. From the day he exploded from his egg with the curse of sapphire-colored scales, to the day the ghosts in his head told him why he had to be kept a secret from the rest of the world, until now; nineteen years later; when he must remain hidden to prevent a firey end to the nine Realms of Dragnaple, he had never doubted he had power, even if he had never felt it (or, let's be honest, seen it). But what he hadn't suspected was just how much a dragon of his rarity was worth--and what some would do to secure him for their own selfish desires. But when Cloud is given the chance to leave his home and everything he's known behind to go out into the world and become the hero the Realms so desperately need, he will have to make a choice: Stay where he knows he will be safe--and watch the Realms tear each other apart... ...or break free of the expectations of his kind and become a hero that the universe could never have predicted. With a frantic rustle of sheets, I bolted out of bed and promptly fell flat on my stomach. Two hundred and fifty years after the fall of Galbatorix, Alagaesia is a very different place. Trading routes have been opened up all through the world with the country being the center of it all. Ilirea has become a thriving city and has grown immensely, with large businesses bustling, and tens of thousands of citizens living their daily lives. With the dragon riders thriving with the country nothing seems wrong. But with a large city comes a dark underground, and with rumours spreading the streets of a powerful new weapon not even the elves can compete with, the dragon riders find themselves losing what little control they have over the criminals hiding in the shadows. Ragin, professional thief and assassin, has been tasked with an impossible mission. One that has never been achieved before. Stealing a dragon egg. But there is a surprise at the end of this mission, one that no one could foresee. (Disclaimer, I do not own the inheritance series or the characters that appear in it.
