After finding an injured Starly at Lake Verity near his hometown of Twinleaf, Sam is introduced to the elderly Professor Rowan; a world renowned professor of Pokemon. Convinced Sam was destined for greatness, Professor Rowan invited Sam and friends to his Pokemon Lab in Sandgem Town to receive their first Pokemon, and begin their Pokemon Journey. Although Sam is reluctant to do so at first, he eventually takes up the quest of becoming a top Pokemon Trainer, and beating the Sinnoh League, ultimately leading him closer and closer to his destiny. Now, as Sam and his friends travel across the Pokemon World, they will encounter new and old friends and rivals, as well as great evils and schemes that will cause them to become heroes like they never imagined.
