Hey, Wattpad! I"M GIVING AWAY 10 DAYS OF TRUE BORN! Since you are the reason True Born has gone from a tiny novella to a full-length novel in a trilogy, it seems only fitting that I give back to you with a special sneak peak! True Born is hitting stores May 3rd, but I wanted to give you all a chance to see how the material has evolved during the publication process. (The first chapter in particular is a bit different - and there is at least one important scene in the novel that has changed - you'll just have to keep reading to see what!) And so: without further ado! Every day (April 21 - April 30, 2016) for the next 10 days I will be posting a new chapter of True Born. That's right - you heard me - 10 chapters over 10 days! And if you'd like to read a little more about the reasons I'm doing this, feel free to check out my #LovelettertoWattpad on my website: www.le-sterling.com. With special thanks to my publishers, Entangled Teen, who are letting me do this crazy thing! L. E. Sterling ---- After the great Plague descended, the world population was decimated...and their genetics damaged beyond repair. The Lasters wait hopelessly for their genes to self-destruct. The Splicers pay for expensive treatments that might prolong their life. The plague-resistant True Borns are as mysterious as they are feared... And then there's Lucy Fox and her identical twin sister, Margot. After endless tests, no one wants to reveal what they are. When Margot disappears, a desperate Lucy has no choice but to put her faith in the True Borns, led by the charismatic Nolan Storm and the beautiful but deadly Jared Price. As Lucy and the True Borns set out to rescue her sister, they stumble upon a vast conspiracy stretching from Dominion's street preachers to shady Russian tycoons. But why target the Fox sisters? As they say in Dominion, it's in the blood.

HE WANTED TO ESCAPE HIS PROBLEMS. HE WANTED TO SEE THE FUTURE. HE NEVER CONSIDERED WHAT THE FUTURE WANTED. Confronted with suffering a painful death from cancer, Dan Sturges, a retired Ford’s engineer, foregoes treatments to try an idea of his own. After reading a theoretical article in Scientific American on time displacement, Dan builds a time machine in his garage. With nothing to lose but a few months of pain, Dan pins his hopes on a future where cancer might have been cured, or at least a quicker death by electrocution. How could he have known that what happens after he presses the button is more shocking than the eighteen car batteries he connected himself to? Greener Grass is a science fiction short story of 5,600 words by Michael J. Sullivan, author of the fantasy books of The Riyria Revelations and the Riyria Chronicles. This short story was the seed that grew into his full-length novel, Hollow World published in April 2014 by Tachyon Publishing. While the ideas are similar, the two worlds depicted are quite different. In Greener Grass, the world was created to provide a "twilight zone" twist. In Hollow World, the future provides an environment that may be utopian or dystopic depending on the readers perceptions.

Darkness has fallen over the beautiful land of Uthone; a place in the world concealed from the human eye. Many of the gifted who lived there have been taken and locked away by the evil Salem, who wants to steal and keep every power the gifted possess. Very few gifted managed to escape to the human world where they now hide in fear of being captured. Uthone is now full of horrible orcs and goblins, destroying a place that was once spectacular. These dark creatures watch out for any escapees and work with Salem to capture all the gifted in the world. Sky is one of the many gifted held captive by Salem. Everyday Sky fights to escape the castle hidden deep in the realm of Uthone but her attempts are useless. The chains that hold her hands and ankles suppress her gift: the power to control anything. This doesn’t prevent Sky from trying to get out though. She’s determined to get out of Salem’s castle and flee to the human world with the hope of coming back to defeat the man who has kept her captive for so long.

Two people sit in a dimly lit room playing a deadly game of fate. What led them to this game and who will win? We all have secrets that we don't want anyone to know; even ones we keep from the people we're closest to. When a dark secret is unlocked, Ebony Williams turns against her absurdly rich father, refusing to listen to his persistent reasoning and pathetic excuses. What he's done is wrong and unforgivable. Rather than just running away from home, over-confident Ebony plans to get her own back by scamming her father out of his entire fortune with the help of her not-so-perfect boyfriend and one of her father's biggest rivals. (This was previously called Show 'em Who's Boss.)

Random poetry and the occasional drabble or dribble of other short random thought from the depths my somewhat bemused brain, or possibly Brian if the schizophrenic misspelt pseudo entity that lives up there is up to his old tricks... poems from the Tardis like halls of my head. No genre is safe...

Okie's fifteen. She lives in New York. She's got a few problems: she's failing geography, her dad's a wimp, and her mother, Sumatra, is a stone cold bitch. But things get a lot worse when Sumatra turns into a zombie and eats Okie's dad. Clio, Okie's grandmother, lives in Toronto; but since the zombie apocalypse, Toronto's a lot further away than it used to be. Clio suggests that Okie transport Sumatra across the border, because family is family. But coaching Okie by cellphone isn't easy, and Clio has some zombies of her own to contend with. Luckily she has some garden tools. Naomi Alderman and Margaret Atwood team up for this unusual two-hander. Encompassing love, death, sex, and the meaning of family, The Happy Zombie Sunrise Home will surprise, delight, and convince you of the vital importance of keeping ready supplies of rhubarb and mini-wieners in your freezer at all times. The story unfolds beginning October 24.

When you're marked you have two choices; fight or die. Nance lives in the past, literally. Her city is a recreation of early twenty-first century society. To the outside world they're experiments, just rats running around a maze. In an impoverished future world, the city seems to be their only chance of finding where they went wrong, or so they say. Nance doesn't know the real purpose of her home, and she doesn't care. All she sees are the one hundred teenagers, just like her, who are killed every year in the barbaric ritual known as the marking. They tattoo your face and pit you against your peers, against the city. Nance doesn't know why, but it doesn't matter, because she's sixteen and it's her turn to be marked. **So I decided to replace the original story with the rewrite because they are pretty much exactly the same. Plus, it's a lot less complicated then having two separate books for the same story.** There is a * next to all rewritten chapters. THE ORIGINAL VERSION IS COMPLETE. IT'S JUST NOT MARKED AS SUCH BECAUSE I GAVE UP ON THE REWRITE.
