Death is supposed to be easier to accept when it's gradual. The longer you watch someone wither away, the easier it is to accept that they're dying. Maybe that's why Josh doesn't care about the consequences anymore as he sticks the needle into his vein and watches himself gradually disappear. ***Trigger warnings for illegal drug use.***

"This is how it often goes, sold into captivity so long ago. This is how it often goes. God knows I would know." -Mothers (Lockjaw) As awful as it sounded, Josh's favourite letters were the ones that came from people who, for some reason, thought he'd want to be their boyfriend. That didn't make any sense to him. You'd have to be embarrassingly lonely to write love letters to someone who was slated to serve 76 years in prison. The sentiment was nice though.

Tyler doesn't fit in. Josh doesn't fit in. Tyler is afraid to go to school. Josh is afraid to go home. Tyler is in honours classes. Josh is in a satanic cult. Those kinds of parallels don't happen for no reason.

The raid happened so quickly that Tyler wasn't even sure if it had really happened. Surely this was all some elaborate hallucination. It was a fever dream, or the result of listening to one too many of his father's scary stories. Tales of the Norsemen coming across the sea to overtake and decimate villages were widespread, but Tyler had thought they were just stories. He was clearly wrong.

"Pressure to go strike out on your own Pressure to learn from being alone Pressure to not leave it for too long Before you find another heart where you belong." -Julia Jacklin (Pressure to Party) This book is an au of my other stories, Lividity and Creek Blues. The characters are exactly the same, except they've been to therapy and have a bit more stability in their home lives. It can be read as a stand-alone fic too!

Prequel/sequel to Lividity (Joshler) READ LIVIDITY FIRST "You're already dead. You just don't know it yet. You are sick, and I hate you and love you for it. You're a wreck, but I'm always going to want you." -Nicole Dollanganger (Creek Blues) ***Trigger warnings on necessary chapters.***
