Teenage girl Civia is not like the other girls in her village and will only marry if she wishes. She finds a dragon on the other side of the cliffs near her village. Civia must find a way to save the dragon from harmful forces, when someone finds the cliffs they try expose the dragon. They finally find a way to expose them and Civia must find a way out of trouble. Civia finds herself in a situation where she might have to choose between the dragon and the person she learns to love, which one will she choose?

The only way to break this curse is to find someone who will fall in love with her. Kaelyn had always had her heart set on the wonderful and handsome prince Philip, but he doesn't even know she really exists. Nobody pays any attention to a palace horse. When the two of them are captured by common horse thieves, it is up to Kaelyn to bring Philip safely back home. It's a long journey, and they have many miles to cover. Perhaps prince Philip will discover that his horse "Aurora" is more than she appears?
