The world thought Kenric died. And maybe somewhere deep down, a little part of him had in the time he'd spent in the Neverseen's clutches. But it didn't matter when he saw her. None of it mattered. Only her. Oralie's world was gone. All she could do was put one step in front of the other, desperately hoping everything she'd ever worked for was not for nothing. She was drowning, but it didn't matter. None of it mattered. Because he was gone. ~ Oralie always thought she'd step down with Kenric once this was all over.
