Wei WuXian, or otherwise known as Wei Ying. His parents died on the way to visiting Gusu sect. Ten years later, word arises that ghosts keep appearing among a city belonging to the Lan Sect, as such, they send a group of Disciples to check it out. Finding a living ghost like creature, the Disciples instinctively attack, bringing Wei Ying into the picture. Lan Wangji was intrigued, and ordered the boy to be brought back with them. Wei Ying may go, but he was not going to make it easy on Wangji. As a guest of Lan Wangji, the Second Master Childe is in charge of Wei Ying. Slowly the two begin to get much closer to each other.

I changed what happened at the temple .... so yes ... bad guy wins and Wei Ying looses .... everything. Wei Ying is thrown away not just by everyone he has ever known ... but the love of his life Lan Zhan. They all believe the lies told about Wei Ying and so now he will be alone in the world.
