Portgas D. Takeo, a young boy, is the adopted grandson of Garp, a retired hero. However, his true parents were Portgas D. Rouge and the legendary former No. 1 Hero, Gol D. Roger. Gol D. Roger met his end in battle against All for One. (He was fighting with All Might by his side, but as the damage would go further beyond, he asked All Might just to leave him and save many people as possible, sacrificing himself) After the death of Roger, Rouge, the lover of Roger, feared that the villains would hunt down the son their son, which made Rouge made a heartbreaking sacrifice-she carried Takeo in her womb for two years, ultimately giving her life upon his birth. Garp, now the adopted grandfather of Takeo, decided give hellish training to him along with his sibling, this was to make them the greatest hero. However, when the age of discovering of quirk came, it was revealed that Takeo didn't have a quirk. After not finding his quirk, Takeo's sibling made fun of them for being weak. This made Takeo to train harder, but couldn't get rid of his sadness of not getting a quirk like his siblings. One day, Takeo had an argument with his sibling about who is going to become the strongest, he found a box with a lock. Thinking it was a secret food that his sibling tried to hide, he managed to open it and revealed a fruit. The fruit constantly changed shape, once it was a flame like fruit, then a bomb shape, and so on. So out of spite, he ate the fruit. This gave him a ability called "The One Piece." Now, armed with his powerful quirk, "The One Piece," Takeo has sworn to make the world a better place and avenge his father by taking down the one responsible for his death.
