This takes place during pre-calamity times in BOTW's Hyrule. It shows the development of Link and Zelda's relationship from both perspectives. I tried not to stray too far from their canon personalities, as out of character headcanons tend to annoy me haha. But of course I will enhance their personalities. I hope you enjoy! Two years before the Calamity, Link was sent on a dangerous mission to Lorule to alter the future war. With him were six soldiers. One by one, they fell and met their end. Only two of the original team were left standing when it was all over. To save Lorule and Hyrule, Link must face the one he loves most to save both himself and his surviving men...

The Story of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a story we've all come to love, but what really happened before the heroes we know saved all of Hyrule? A princess with sealing powers - rather a princess who needed to access these powers is assigned a personal knight who succeeds in every challenge at every turn. Princess Zelda and Champion Link must work together to defeat the upcoming calamity. Though tensions run high and the princess despises her knight, the two form an unexpected bond. They know they must work as a team with the other Champions, but without Zelda's sealing powers, the group is unsure of how they will win the battle against the ancient beast known as Calamity Ganon. Will Zelda's wisdom and Link's courage be enough... or will Ganon's power destroy all of Hyrule?

A year has passed since the fall of the Calamity Ganon. Things are reliving in the kingdom. Zelda thought that things would have returned to normal between her and Link, but Hyrule's hero seems to carry a burden in these peaceful times. The princess wonders if she is the one causing him to be so distant and silent once again...

Zelda doesn't believe in soulmates; Zelda barely even believes in herself. That is, until Link turns up with a sword strapped to his back, heralding the end of times. Now, they must work together to prevent the fall of Hyrule and rise of Calamity Ganon. But, the task proves as tricky as expected, especially when Zelda feels like she's falling faster than her Kingdom...and perhaps in a way she never expected to. Pre-game (and post-game, eventually) fic centred around Link's memories and what might've happened in between them.

Before the Great Calamity, Zelda and Link travel amongst Hyrule together. They must learn to tolerate each other on their journey. Zelda, having barely been able to leave the castle much before him, discovered her sense of adventure when she went out with Link. Is it possible that the two of them harbored a secret admiration for each other than ran deeper than friendship? Or would Link maintain his silence and not speak to the princess at all? This story flashes back from before and after the Great Calamity. What happens after Link defeats Calamity Ganon? This story is very long, but if I do say so myself, I think it's worth it! There will be a sequel. Contains spoilers. I DO NOT OWN THESE CHARACTERS OR ANYTHING/MONOLOGUE THAT HAPPENED IN THE GAME, it belongs to Nintendo.
