Nightmares gang died in battle right before his eye he didn't know what to do and in a blind rage killed every soul in the multiverse effectively destroying it. As the multiverse took its last breath and the universe he stood on crumbled he fell into the void. By some twist in fate he survived instead of being scattered through time and space and got transported to a multiverse in the same state as his own but the difference is it is much younger and his gangs and his alternates personality was slightly different. It didn't matter because he was going to do his best to save them from the same fate he faced even in this new form he was now in. Also why is he an actual octopus?
