The room was silent, save for the soft ticking of the clock on the wall. Clara stood by the window, staring out into the dark night, her reflection barely visible against the glass. Somewhere behind her, Ethan moved quietly, his presence as palpable as the shadows that stretched across the room. "You know I'd do anything for you, Clara," his voice was low, almost a whisper, but it carried a weight she couldn't ignore. She swallowed hard, her hands trembling at her sides. She did know-she had always known. But what she hadn't understood was how much anything would cost. And now, there was no turning back.

Jeon Jungkook has spent his whole life trying to be less of what he is - a true-blood alpha in a world that expects him to be arrogant, dangerous, and impossible to control. He's none of those things. He's just tired, broke, recently fired, and trying to survive on coffee and stubbornness. Kim Taehyung has never had to try to be anything. CEO, chaebol heir, certified disaster - he's spent his whole life getting exactly what he wants, the moment he wants it, with absolutely no consequences attached. Then one very bad night, a drunk Taehyung gets dragged behind a parked car by a stranger with bunny teeth and zero patience for his nonsense - and suddenly Taehyung wants something he's never had to chase before: a reaction. A modern omegaverse story about two alphas who were never supposed to make sense together - and the slow, ridiculous, devastating process of falling apart, and falling in love, anyway. Top Jungkook x Bottom Taehyung. Slow burn. Lots of comedy. Lots of angst. Worth it.

They lit their torches in the dying embers of the fire, descended the broken rocks and entered the cave. "If we keep the light from the opening directly behind us we won't get lost," Isabell whispered. They slowly continued deeper into the cave as the cave traveled nearly straight with a slowly rising grade. The opening behind them a tiny spot of light. "COME NO FARTHER!" "Did you hear that Izzy?" "Yes." "COME NO FARTHER!" "Please, who are you?" Isabell asked. "I am hideous to behold, look not upon me." "Please sir, can we help, we have healing skills." What they heard next seemed like laughter. "You may approach, be warned I am hideous." "Is that your name?" Gloria asked, her voice just a whisper. As they approached the dragon became visible in the torch light. "You are beautiful!" Isabell gasped. Again the sound of apparent laughter. "Can you fly?" Gloria said in awe. "No little one. My wing is broken. I will die soon." "From a broken wing?" Isabell asked. "I have not eaten in almost a year." "Please...PLEASE don't eat us!" Gloria pleaded. *** When Isabell's uncle expects her to wear a yellow cape and work the darker side of a tavern, Isabell runs away from home, and is found and captured by bandits. When a passing knight happens upon them and ends up fighting the bandits, Isabell takes action and in the battle unintentionally knocks out the knight. The knight has no idea what is in store for him when he wakes and agrees to take her with him....

Then rolling and looping the dragon skimmed the wave tops while Elodia laughed. She had never dreamed of the happiness she now felt, and was grateful her life had been so blessed. Book 4 of the Time and Eternity Series Stephanie wandered off. The palace was immense and beautiful. She had never seen a space as large as this. Huge statues everywhere, carvings of battles on the walls, battles showing men ridding dragons and fighting. The murals apparently telling a story of men first discovering the eggs then mastering the dragons. Then a depiction of men divided and battling each other on the dragons. Other pictures showing an entire planet destroyed by fire. Then more pictures of refuges on a new planet carrying the eggs. This scene pictured at least three times, each on a different planet, the final planet obviously Draco. She saw a raised platform in the distance and closing on it saw a gilded pedestal cast into the shape of a nest. The ceilings were over twenty feet high. The entire palace had an aura of pain and unhappiness. In spite of its opulent beauty the air was sinister and dangerous. Stephanie shivered as she approached the nest. In the nest she saw over two dozen eggs. They appeared black, but were upon closer inspection swirling in deep rich colors. The eggs were huge and seem alive in color. She reached out and touched the egg. Her hand becoming warm, the egg beginning to glow, then hum. The creature inside the egg stirred and Stephanie was aware of a conscious living dragon within the egg. She though it spoke to her, its voice friendly and soft, "Not yet, you're not the one," the creature whispered. "Another will come, then I will find you." The voice seemed kind and not at all menacing.

"What does it mean?" Theodora asked. "It means you're a witch," Mathilda said softly gently putting a hand on her shoulder, "like me." Theodora just sat looking at her companion in surprise. "It's a good thing Teddie." "I didn't believe in witches." "What about dragons Teddie, do you believe in them?" "Not sure about dragons, why?" "The egg you touched hatched and that yellow bird you complained about following you is a baby dragon." Theodora looked around the garden and spotted the dragon. The little dragon chirruped pleadingly. Sit here and don't move. I'll bring the rabbit I was going to stew for dinner. It only took a couple of minutes then she returned with a bowl of meat strips. "Hold a piece of rabbit like this and just be still." Theodora held the meat as instructed and the little dragon floated down turning blue in color and carefully took the offered tidbit. The second piece of rabbit was taken more greedily and then the little dragon landed on her forearm and started eating directly from the bowl. cover: SelfPubBookCovers.com/Shardel
