❝You don't have to be alone to be lonesome.❞ After a last-minute change to her Christmas plans, Karen regrets choosing a random place to crash from her late mother's address book. Maybe she would have bailed out, had she known that Hunham was staying on-campus with the other holdovers (all boys, of course, including the rebellious but painfully lonely Angus Tully) as well as one of the school cooks, Mary, grieving her son. And had she known that her toes would be freezing overnight, and the closest thing to a decorated tree she'd see was on a Christmas card, Karen would have screamed at her past self to just persist home through the bitter cold anyway. But on the other hand, does she have anywhere better to be? THE HOLDOVERS | 2023 movie Fem!OC x Angus Tully ( extended summary inside ) cover by @nightwvngs

Promises? Broken. Laws? Broken. Rules against macking a fellow Pogue? Somehow not broken. The only thing Parker Kate Routledge loves more than pushing boundaries is pushing her twin brother's buttons. And what better way than to flirt with his dangerously sexy and completely off-limits best friend? She's read enough dirty books to know what to say. What she doesn't know is how JJ always has the perfect response capable of toying with her mind. Nine years ago, JJ Maybank promised to stay away from his best friend's twin sister. And for good reason. Parker is more than gorgeous; she is incredibly smart and witty, while JJ is -- not. As much as JJ tells himself to stay away, he cannot help but turn into a shameless flirt whenever she enters a room. Parker might like that it drives John B mad, but JJ likes that it turns her cheeks pink. As the friend group's summer takes a crazy turn, Parker and JJ find themselves doing more than pretending to break the rules. The two are then left wondering what's real, what's fake, and how fast John B would kill them if they ended up together.
