Not after everything that had happened to you." "What would you know?" I snarled. He came towards me. His fingers light grazed underneath my chin. My breath hitched. I looked up into his empty eyes. They were empty yet filled with shine, like a cold night sky with moonlit stars and shooting asteroids. "I know more about you than you're letting on. I can see through you. Through your perfect smile. There's something immoral deep inside of you." "What are you, my therapist?" I scoffed. Who does he think he is? "Way worse than that, love, I'm the Devil." As we reached my hotel room door, Christian pressed me against it, bring his lips to mine again. I pulled away swiping my card to unlock the room door. I turned back to Christian's implored eye and smile innocently. "No, you can't come in" "Please?" he begged, using the full effects of his eyes on me. I shook my head weakly knowing that if he asked again, I would cave in. His eyes pierced through me, causing me to squirm under his gaze. Suddenly, the elevator opens as Madison walked out with Warren by her side. "I thought you'd be asleep by now" she says to me, thankfully pushing me into the room, breaking the intensity Christian created between us. "Good night Warren, good night Christian." Christian was still gazing at me when the door closed in his face. I quickly ran to open it as Madison jumped on my back causing me to fall to the floor. "What are you doing? get off me!" "Is everything okay in there?" I heard Warren's voice from the door "Fine" Madison called out, pinning me to the floor. Cheerleading is really doing her good. I need to work out more. "Stop being so desperate!" she whispers to me We looked up as the door opened. Mandy stood in the doorway as Liam, Warren, and Christian's confused eyes stared down at us. "Umm, yeah... Night" Mandy says as she entered the room, closing the door behind her. She looked down at us and begins to open her mouth. "Don't ask" I said, managing to push Madison off me.

Book One of the Love You Series - Standalone. Sometimes the heart wants what logic swears is off-limits. Kyle Carter. By definition? My brother's best friend. To everyone else? Confident. Charismatic. The human version of sunshine. He walks into a room and people gravitate toward him-like he knows exactly who he is and where he's going. But behind the easy smiles and effortless charm is someone quieter, softer... someone who wants to be seen. Really seen. By one person alone. When you're part of the same friend group, running into each other is inevitable. Daily, even. Bickering became our version of talking, teasing became our shared language. But it's dangerous-the kind of dangerous where you start noticing just how beautiful someone is, and wondering how it's even fair to exist next to them. And feelings? They show up like a tidal wave I can't stop, no matter how many times I tell myself not to fall. Because Kyle Carter is off-limits. And I should know better. Ivy Kingston. Definition? My best friend's sister. The one girl who knows exactly how to push my buttons-and enjoys doing it. She's bold, reckless, and says things that get under my skin and stay there. She's trouble in the form of witty comebacks and the most intoxicating smile I've ever seen. She's not the little girl I used to tease anymore. She's... something else entirely. And it scares the hell out of me how much I want her. Feelings weren't supposed to be part of the equation-but here they are, crashing through every line I've drawn. And no matter how much I try to stay away, she pulls me in like gravity. They say if it's meant to be, it'll find a way. But there's always a but, isn't there? The truth is, I don't know if I'll ever get my happy ending. Hell, she is my happy ending. And I need her. More than anything.

What's the worst that can happen when you're forced to co-captain with your rival? Nova Shields can't stand Leo Hendrix. She hates his arrogance and obnoxiousness, that crooked smirk he does when he thinks he's right. Leo can't stand Nova's wits, the way she folds her arms and quirks her eyebrows. The way he can never read what's happening behind those green eyes. After a combined black operation was almost sent awry in '99 as a result of their constant disagreements, the pair vowed to never work alongside each other again. That is until Leo's partner suddenly loses his life in '02, leaving Commander North no choice but to bring in the only officer capable of filling the void: Nova. Their partnership ignites with animosity, a consequence of the lingering grudge. They can't seem to find that comradeship the Commander longed for. That is until they discover how once they work together without disagreeing, arguing and trying to wring each others necks, they can in fact form an unstoppable duo. A duo that transcends the operations they face; that forces them to confront the feelings they've been denying for so long.
