Poe Dameron has never been called someone's own nor has he had the chance to feel worthy of anyone. When he runs away from his old life to start new, it doesn't exactly live up to the expectation. He doesn't have much faith that something could change it. Finn has never had a place or person to call home. After being in an orphanage for as long as he can remember, he decides to finally go off on his own and find something to give his life a little more meaning. Finn's chocolate bar gets stuck in a vending machine and Poe is the one who gets it out for him. A somewhat whirlwind romance ensues, but when Poe has to leave to return to the Air Force their entire relationship changes.

Poe has spent his whole life trying to get away. When his mother passed away 9 years ago, he was left with his abusive addict father. His father comes home drunk every night and couldn't care less about his son. The only help Poe gets is from his best friend, Jessika Pava, and her family. They helped raise him as best as they possibly could, and he couldn't be more grateful. When Poe turned eighteen the summer before his senior year, he and Jess were able to buy an apartment a couple blocks away from the home he grew up in. Jess has been by his side from day one, but moving away from her after graduation might be the hardest goodbye he's ever had to say. Finn's life has been miserable from the day he walked into his middle school 6 years ago. The bullying, the depression, the cuts on his wrist; they never went away. As an openly bi person of color, Finn expected middle school to be a rough journey, but he wasn't prepared for the years ahead of him. When he stepped into the large public middle school to start his first day of sixth grade, everything immediately started rolling downhill. He was jumped, beaten, and verbally harassed every day. He would just shrug away the pain and move on. When his senior year rolls around, Finn finally has the chance to start new and leave the past behind. When two misfits happen to be introduced to each other, their lives are suddenly struck with an unknown feeling: love. ! All characters belong to LucasFilms and Disney !
