The hedgehog was floating in a river and save by a Dr. Ivo Robotnik. He was searching for a surge of chaos energy that had popped up out of nowhere. The Doctor never knew he would find a hedgehog that had the same amount of energy of a chaos emerald yet alone a baby that is no more than a two full weeks old. The doctor picked up the baby in a basket, "My new supper weapon. What great power and chaos energy at such speed. Eureka! I think I'll call you Sonic." Years 21 years later and our blue hedgehog finds himself locked for life on prison island. When did his life go wrong. After defeating Dark Gaia with Chip and saying his farewells to his newfound friend, Sonic the hedgehog returns to his usual life without turning into a werehog every night. That is until he discovers he isn't actually cured of his... condition. He spends weeks and weeks hiding it from his friends but as more time passes by, more suspicions are raised, and Sonic has more trouble trying to contain the beast within him. Sonic's finally had enough, he's had enough of Amy who always proclaims her 'love' for him, he's had enough of Eggman, of Knuckles, Shadow and even Tails. But what are the consequences of him loosing control of the darkness within him, when he lets go of his 'Hero' side? How bad could it really be? Zonic is a respected officer, well by those with lower titles than him, yet he gets pushed around and judged by the warden and the higher ranked officers, and with the sudden shift, he snaps and no one can stop him. Scourge, known as the Anti Sonic has a change of heart in the middle of a murder, he lets them live and doesn't understand why, but is determined to find out.

Shadow must embark on a mission, but Rouge isn't here with him this time, so he's forced to take Sonic instead. They hate each other, down to the very guts, but as the mission continues and they become lost in the wilderness, they must work together to survive the deadly harshness of the rainforest and the mysterious creature following them. There sat the hedgehog in the depths of what everyone knew as labyrinth zone. He was strapped to a spike-ball like a dog to a leash, with no way to be freed. He was beginning to think that the repeating cycle of pain would never end.... But it did. In the strangest way too.

It all started with a strange dream - one of which included an almost dark reflection of himself. A very clichè one often found in books and media. However it was some sort of warning. Sonic couldn't shake the dream, meaning recognising the strange infection that had taken over Green Hills was an almost immediate thing. It didn't mean that he couldn't stop it however. Green Hills was no longer a thriving place, but a desolate waste land where pasts were now behind everyone for all the wrong reasons. Rivals teamed up to survive - as did friends and family. The warming humility of Green Hills was gone in almost an instant, all morals were merely a figment of the past. It was everybody for themselves. He had struggled to save Green Hills in the beginning, but he wouldn't let it go without a fight.

"You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain," these words fall out as he smirked. ------ It has been years ever since Mephiles disappeared and never showed up again. People thought he was gone for good, yet a fragment that reeks energy of that familiar sphere was found and lies in G.U.N. headquarters for now. Shadow, of course, was summoned for the purpose of getting things straight. But Shadow himself as a contributor of Mephiles' escape, could not help much either, as he had no relevant information. After weeks of futile mission to find reasons for the appearance of what seems to be Mephiles's possessions, G.U.N. decided to seek reinforcement from Tails. As the evaluation is in progress, Shadow was sent to collect the shattered pieces of the Scepter of Darkness. However, this time is different, which came to his surprise that G.U.N. approved Sonic's volunteer to join the classified mission. Companions, friends, perhaps frenemies, Shadow couldn't describe their relationship. It felt weird to have someone once again, shine their way into his life like... what Maria used to. Personally, he thinks its delightful. Unconsciously, he cherished Sonic's charisma. Earnestly, he protected Sonic's bright character. He will not once again lost what he had lost. But somehow, it seems that what he wanted to protect has already long gone. ----- "Looks like you're the naïve one," Sonic gave a small throw of the scepter and catched it midair, "to think I would really care about anything, anyone," he looked downwards at the dark hedgehog that looked at him unbelievably, "awww boohoo, I used to haha, really I do," He tilted up Shadow's chin with the scepter, gave a cold stare at the blood-covered hedgehog with half-closed eyelids, "but now I don't give a shit anymore, everyone could just go and fuck themselves." Attention: slow story, might make you feel bad (someone says they feel not really good after reading on AO3).

Sonic holds a secret. A dark secret that not even Tails knows about. He's a merhog, but not just any merhog. He's a Siren, a predator of the sea. He's done well to hide it so far, but when his friends insist on staying at a beach house for a whole week, he's not sure how much longer he'll be able to hide his killer instincts.
