It's the summer of 1969 and Zelda is finishing her last year of high school while living comfortably in southern California. She seems to have everything a young woman could ask for: a nice house, perfect grades, a best friend. She doesn't understand how valuable her precious comforts are until she meets a boy struggling to keep his head above the water.

While Zelda's ambitions send her higher, Link has been searching for a way down. His smile is perfect, his lyrics are better. The magazines love him and so do the charts and every time someone finds his albums in the stores, his pockets grow heavier. His name is adored everywhere and what could ever be better than that?
