It's been five years since the incident with Tom, Alice hasn't really thought about it or him until she sees him at her work but turns out he's married now.

Maybe it got out of hand when he wound up putting an innocent kid in the hospital almost killing him. Everyone scared of Gerard. Except maybe one kid.
