When you think of a pirate as a kid, you would think they have an eyepatch and parrot on their shoulder. So guess my disappointment when I saw no parrot on shoulder but a lot of scars on the eye instead. So put a parrot. A big bright red parrot with a twist. A twist so large, that it'll change the plot a bit. A sixth crew member that acts as the overseer of the crew and protector. She records the adventures and writes down all the battles that transpire before her as she travels with the Strawhats. Read as she matches the Captain in craziness and rowdiness. Two birds of a feather one might say. She'll change your life through one page at a time. - "If I'm going down, I'm bringing somebody down with me..!" "I may not be as strong, as Zoro as his right hand man. Or be super fast like Sanji, his left hand. But I am his eyes. The eyes that help him see things that he cannot!" "Have you heard of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder..? Or in short PTSD?" "Our Arcus!!" "Be my Parrot!" An assortment of crochet patterns I have written. I'll add more as I come up with them. For every pattern, I always use my beginning tail as my stitch counter for the beginning/end of every row. Instead of a magic ring, I simply chain 2 and use the first chain as my magic ring. Wherever possible, I tend to use rounds or ovals. I don't care for straight edge patterns as mine never seem to turn out evenly. I can't say why and, as I've been crocheting for nearly fifty years, it's not for lack of practice. I always work in the back/third bump of any chain I use, and I always use each loop of the end chain on my project to turn the corner. I am also never happy with my final results and will often go back to change this or that detail. I suggest using these patterns as guides rather than strict instructions. If you find any glitches, please let me know so I can edit. Tah. Happy Hooking.
