I wrote a, we'll say, 98% canon-compliant Miego long-fic called Turnabout Courtship. It followed the pair from Mia's hiring at Grossberg Law Offices to 6 months after Trials & Tribulations. Since I had many ideas for scenes that I didn't include in my long-fic for pacing reasons, I decided to write and post those missing scenes as vignettes here. You don't have to read TC to understand these vignettes although there are some original characters and head canons from that story. Note: All vignettes can be read independently from one other and still make sense. I.e., You should be able to read any vignette and understand what's happening without reading the others. However, vignettes are enhanced by reading the others as there is continuity between pieces. Average Vignette Length = 2,125 words (10 minutes) Vignette Length Range = 549 words (3 minutes) to 7,200 words (32 minutes) Time Span of Vignettes = July 28th, 1984 - February 27th, 2019 Update: April 5, 2025. Completed a final revision of all vignettes. As usual with my edits, nothing significant has changed. Just piddly little copy edits for clarity.

This will be a one shot 18+ fanfic based before Diego's tragedy in Ace Attorney. It recently became a hyperfixation and if no one else is going to write this fanfic then I guess it is up to me.

Explore Mia and Diego's tragic love story, from their time as acquaintances and colleagues at Grossberg Law Offices to immediately following the events of Trials & Tribulations. Taking place pre-Turnabout Beginnings/Turnabout Memories, during both cases, and post-Turnabout Beginnings/Memories. Post-first game, even. The third game was... barely non-existent and there was only so much of the first game that could've been so much different. What happened during the time Dahlia and Phoenix were dating? We know from canon that him and Dahlia only met twice. How was he unable to tell the difference between Dahlia and Iris? What would've happened if Dahlia never poisoned Diego post-Turnabout Beginnings? An "alternate universe" where Mia never died, Diego was never poisoned, and Phoenix...? Well, let's just say his and Dahlia's relationship sank -- just like the canon universe. The beginning of the story starts at the end of Beginnings. It reverses back to before that afterwards, when we'll find out about why the trial went the way it did. [Canon dialogue is placed in the story.
