A college girl meets a former classmate of hers whom she hasn't seen in years, nor ever spoken to as kids. As she never had any interest in dating guys, this particular situation , however, starts changes her perspective. A short story I wrote for a contest I entered in earlier this year. Although it did not win, I thought I would share the piece here. I was limited to write a 600 word story...hence why it's so short. I have thought of expanding it into a story but I am not too sure as yet. Who knows. Happy reading.

Kayla Johnson has lived a good high school life. She is relatively liked by everyone, and she tries to be nice and civil to everyone in return. Besides with Tyler Simmons, Kayla has never found true friendship though. When a certain green-eyed boy ruffled her feathers the first day he set foot on her school, the ice princess inside her surfaced. Colby Mariano is an arrogant, full-of-himself badass. That's what Kayla thought. Then they had to spend a considerable amount of time together, much to Kayla's dismay. What she didn't realize was Colby Mariano might be a person who can offer genuine friendship, maybe even more.

One kiss could definitely change your life because it happened to her. One kiss shared between herself and her best friend Rahul Wattinagi caused them not to be friends again. One Kiss caused her to leave her home, her friends and travel to the other side of the world-never to look back. But now, Tia's going back, where it all began because though she's been kissed many times sice then, she's never forgotten that kiss-the kiss that changed the course of her life.
