With a ritual, he forced the Goddess to grant a piece of her being into the womb of Roderick's wife where a baby rested. Roderick hoped that the child would grant him power and magic. When the baby was born, Roderick's wife died, perhaps as a way for the once captured Goddess to get her revenge. The baby, a healthy and abnormaly beautiful girl, grew up in Roderick's house, never being allowed to leave without his permission. She was in a way, imprisoned too. And when she failed to show any significant powers, Roderick lost all the pride he had in the child. To him, she was as worthless and useless as his young son Alex. This is the story about Athiadi and Morpheus. Creatures captured and held in the same house for nearly a century. Until they both break free.
