Just a few months after the destruction of the bone mirror, the team of Lockwood & Co. has another big case to tackle: When Lucy gets a letter from her little sister, begging her to come back and help her with a haunting doomed to kill them, she doesn't need long to make a decision, and neither George nor Lockwood are going to let her face this alone. To not get any unwanted attention in her hometown, Lucy and Lockwood agree to take a closer look disguised as a couple while George is busy researching. But when the haunting turns out to run much deeper and wilder than any of them thought, and other players enter the game, one question arises: Will Lockwood & Co. also make it out of this case unscathed?

The Combe Carey Hall case didn't end as well as Lockwood, Lucy, and George had intended. Percy Grebe shoots Lucy, the skull begins to speak, Lockwood struggles with his guilt, and Lucy struggles with her confidence. Shot at Combe Carey Hall is a re-written version of my original 'Locklyle Fluff' fanfiction, now with more chapters, better writing, and more romance.

Lockwood & Co. is off on another case when things take an unexpected turn and one of the agents is put in grave danger. The remaining two must use what little clues they can find to save their friend from what may be certain death. Fear, anxiety, and pain will plague one of these agents while the others are tied to guilt and shame.

After weeks of torture and months in a hospital Lucy is finally home. However the heartache is not yet over for Lockwood & Co. as Lucy suffers through Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Nightmares and panic attacks, anxiety and fear now stalk Lucy. Lockwood and George are faced with difficult decisions when Lucy's PTSD begins to effect her personal health and her work as an agent.
