A sudden vacancy at the school brought a new face into the classroom-calm, confident, and focused. Students whispered about her professionalism, unaware of the past she was trying to leave behind. Isla Carter had taken the role hoping for a fresh start, a chance to escape old regrets. Teaching science was her passion, but her history weighed heavily on her, and she wanted nothing more than a clean slate. Everything changed when she met Alexis. Troubled, rebellious, and fiercely independent, Alexis resisted guidance and refused to fit into the school's expectations. Tutoring her was supposed to be straightforward, but it quickly became a challenge that tested Isla in ways she hadn't expected. As they spent more time together, a slow-burning connection emerged. Small moments of trust and honesty revealed glimpses of vulnerability in both of them. Each found in the other a strange comfort, a sense of understanding they hadn't realized they needed. But their growing bond was complicated. With past regrets, unhealed wounds, and the boundaries between teacher and student, neither Isla nor Alexis knew where this connection would lead or if it could survive the weight of their separate histories.

Frida started sketching something with her stylus, eyes flicking to her screen as she adjusted the axes of a diagram, mumbling, "...and then this boundary layer here starts behaving like a switch... not instant, but sharp. Sharp enough." Inés leaned in to see. "You mean like a Heaviside approximation?" Frida rolled her eyes, barely biting back a grin. "No. I mean like an actual boundary layer. I thought you said you weren't rusty." That earned her a low hum from Inés - amused, maybe a little provoked. "You want sharp? I'll give you sharp," she muttered, reaching for her own laptop, the tip of her manicured nail clicking a little too decisively on the trackpad. "You're missing the substructure that governs the transition here-see?" Frida glanced over. "That's an assumption, not a proof." "Do you want this to work or do you want it to be romantic?" Frida laughed - surprised and a little breathless. "God. Is that how you think I talk about math?" Inés tilted her head, lips curling. "Only when you're trying to seduce me with it." Frida blinked. Her ears went hot. "I'm not-" "Not trying?" Inés cut in, pretending to glance back at the diagram, feigning innocence, but there was no missing the gleam in her eye. "Shame. Because it's working." Frida looked away sharply, pressing her fingers to the corner of her mouth like she could keep a smile in by force. "You're infuriating." "You're distracted." "You're distracting." Inés made a quiet, pleased sound at that and sat back for a moment, the back of her hand brushing the edge of Frida's chair. "Tell me more about the way you're treating the constraint set when it fractures," she said finally, voice smooth again, back in control - or pretending to be. Frida inhaled and kept going, though her voice was slightly lower now, the words sticking a little as she spoke.

After losing her mother and sister in a tragic car accident 8 months ago, she was left with an alcoholic father who she blames for their death. She promises herself to push through her last year of college but soon falls into a cycle- skipping classes, tear-stained eyes, and an empty stomach. Emilia Zayed is a 29 year old creative writing professor. Emilia is poised, intelligent and emotionally guarded. She keeps everyone at arm's length- students, colleges, friends, and especially family. She doesn't trust people and shows no intention to. She shows no interest in anybody around her, until a soft brown eyed girl enters her lecture with a look of hurt deep in her eyes that she can't seem to stop thinking about. Emilia notices Amara's writing first. There's something about her work-so raw, so aching, so lonely. It touches something in Emilia she thought she'd buried. Never has a student's piece of writing made her feel this way. They shouldn't get close. They can't get close. But they do. And it's slow, quiet, and deeply emotional. It's Amara showing up during Emilia's office hours not just to talk about writing but about life. It's Emilia realising Amara needs more than feedback-she needs someone who sees her. And it's Amara finally finding someone who doesn't leave. The two form an unspoken bond they can't explain. It's forbidden in the eyes of everybody else. But they can't help but feel softer around each other. Will they ever act on it? Will Amara's hurt or Emilia's closed offness prevent them from ever truly opening up and giving in?

It began with a single moment, an instinct to reach out, to care, before she even knew who the woman was. Just a stranger in the wrong place at the wrong time. She didn't expect to see her again. She didn't expect that the woman she pulled back from the road would later introduce herself as Professor Hartmann (39). And Lyn? She never meant to care. She is the kind of woman who carries old grief like a folded letter in her coat pocket. But Claire is all sharp glances, quiet presence, and impossible timing. Now, every look, every pause between words, threatens to unravel something they both try to hold together. A slow-burn sapphic love story about restraint, proximity, and all the things we feel before we can name them.

•GirlxGirl• |I want to wake each morning in your arms comforted by your oddity seduced by your knowledge of my ways and I want you to crack my heart of glass| "Miss Conner?" I was surprised. I hadn't seen her since last week and figured I never would again given the stunt I had pulled. She looked up and started to walk over. A shiver went down my body as I took her in. The dark blue flannel complimented her long blond hair and blue eyes, while the skinny jeans showed off every curve she had to offer. She was breathtaking. "Hello Shay, how is your night going?" My mind turned to mush as her lovely voice flowed over me. "Uh....um its good, I mean, it's going great." I stammered. She said nothing for a long moment, just watched me with those cool blue eyes. "I'm glad." She said finally. I couldn't hold it back any longer. I took a step closer to her, and I could see her tense out of the corner of my eye. "I just wanted to apologize." I was glad when my voice was steady when I spoke, funny since I'd been a stumbling fool earlier. Miss Conner just watched me. I fought the urge to reach over and shake her. That impenetrable mask that she always wore was driving me crazy! "For what?" My brows furrowed and I stared at my English teacher in confusion. "For kissing you." •This is my first book, so be mindful of the spelling errors and please respect that I am not a published, world-wide known author. Thanks.•
