Laura Richards, known more commonly as the Province Spider, traded in secrets and information. Her loyalty was bought, not earned, but one man came dangerously close to being an exception to that rule: 'Stirling'. It was why she had to leave him in the past. Cain Baker, a rugged smuggler with too many regrets to remember, found himself drawn to 'Sydney' against his better judgement. He'd never admit the pain he'd been in after she left without a trace. As Laura and Cain begrudgingly join forces to transport an immune child through the blackblood infested Green, it becomes clear it's not just the external threats they need to confront, but also the demons of their shared history. In the desolate and unforgiving landscape of dystopian Australia, the two of them must decide if they can afford the luxury of trust, or whether the cost would be too high. Will they be able to reignite the flames of passion that once burned between them, or will the dangers they face tear them apart forever? ||Updated Fridays|| ||Content warnings inside|| ||This is an unedited, free version of my self-published novel||

"And what will you do if you have to destroy an entire planet to end this war? Are you really willing to become a monster?" Nierhæ turned towards me, a sombre look on her face. She already had an answer to my question, and it was one I wouldn't like. "I will become as monstrous as I must." °•°•° Take the Heretic to Sethes for public execution. Make sure she doesn't touch the ground until she arrives at Sethes. Keep her alive at all costs. It should have been a simple job for Uhnros, but maybe he should have known better. The missions he got tasked with were never easy, and having to transport a Heretic while also keeping them alive is as difficult as it could come. But he would complete his mission, just as he'd done time and time before. Allow the Regime to take her to Sethes. Keep her custodian alive at all costs because she couldn't fly herself there. Pray that the Aura will give her enough power to tear apart an entire planet. As one of the Aura's Chosen, Nierhæ had one simple task - stay alive. As long as she stayed alive, she could fight against the Sethesian Regime; her destiny had always been to end the war - the Aura itself had told her so the day her gifts manifested. Both Uhnros and Nierhæ want the same thing - for the war to be over. But when things go horribly wrong on their trip to Sethes, can they set aside their different beliefs to end it once and for all? Or will Nierhæ have to kill Uhnros so she can fulfill her destiny? ||a science-fiction romance novella|| ||open novella contest 2024 - longlist qualified|| ||content warnings and notes inside|| notable rankings: #176 in scifiromance

All I saw was red, all I smelt was the metallic tang of blood. Somehow, I was the only one left breathing. °•°•° The world is run by the faction leaders. The Mortal Council, the Day King, and the Night Queen. Their control is complete and inescapable... Or it was supposed to be. After her entire faction is wiped out by vampires, Devana is the last hunter standing in a world only she knows is destined for ruin. Without the hunters, the Day King and the Night Queen have aligned their factions to destroy what's left of the mortal race, and only she can stop it. With a half-cooked plan and a thirst for revenge, Devana sets out to use the Night Queen's only child as a bargaining chip, a dhampir male called Shai. However, after kidnapping him, things start to go awry. Like the fact she can't stay focused around the dhampir and that his mother doesn't seem to care for his life. As Devana begins to sway Shai to work with her, she realises she will have to do something even more idiotic than stealing the Night Prince. Unleashing the part of herself that's deadlier than her hunter blood. With Shai by her side, it doesn't seem so daunting, but can he really be trusted? Or is he just getting close to destroy the hunters once and for all? °•°•° ||Mature; violence, swearing, spice|| ||Completed||

Every Blue Moon there's a Hunt: an archaic ritual for vampires to protect themselves by culling the one creature that can kill them without weapons. Werewolves. And while the other supernatural creatures are content to ignore and forget... The White Wolf, the Wolf leader, cannot. After losing her second in command to the last Hunt, Vali's focus had been on finding ways to stop the recurring mass murder from happening. The only avenue she has left is the Summit, and with the next Blue Moon in two months she needs to act fast. She has to target Mircea Dracula, the Vampire Prince, to plead for his help in ending the Hunt once and for all. Her only hope is the prophecy, one about a White Wolf and a Dracula bringing peace to the supernatural world. But what she doesn't know is that he is looking for a way out. A way out of his arranged marriage. Out of a compromised crown. A way to bring peace to the supernatural world and end the bloodshed. And neither know that when they lock eyes at the Summit... It's only the beginning of a new age. ||Mature themes: swearing, violence and a little spice|| ||Complete [first draft]||
