What if... Teresa never went with Thomas when she died, but instead, got the serum and went to try to save Newt without anyone knowing. Everyone would be gone to the Safe Heaven thinking Newt and Teresa are dead. But 1 month later, Newt woke up, healthy again and cured. Newt and Teresa then make a team to try and get back to the Safe Heaven where is everyone. This is an alternative end for The Maze Runner : The Death Cure (because I'm clearly still not over Newt's death and I'm so mad that they killed him, so yeah...) [EDIT 1] My work is currently undergoing some revisions. I wrote this 5 years ago, and needless to say, some of the dialogue, scenes, wording, and overall feel is quite childish. Not all of it, but some of it. I've decided to revisit my original first story and make it better. The story is definitely much more mature now, and I think everyone will enjoy it better now that the tone has changed to fit the melancholy nature of my story. Thanks in advance. Thomas gets a chance at redemption when he is offered a seemingly impossible task: plant an idea in someone's mind. If he succeeds, Thomas and his fellow gladers will have succeeded in bringing back a long lost friend. But a dangerous enemy anticipates his every move.
