It's been 12 years since the slaying of reputed mob boss Tony Soprano. His daughter, Meadow, is now an attorney at law, unmarried, and isolated. Paulie Walnuts seems to be the Boss of the Jersey based DiMeo Crime family, with Little Paulie, Patsy Parisi, and Benny Fazio serving as the family Capos... but things aren't always what they seem. Somehow, Paulie has surprised everyone with his cunning and effective mob tactics and strategy. FBI Chief Robyn Sanseverino is concerned and convinced that the calm and calculated Meadow Soprano is no longer the warm-hearted girl the agency once remembers, and might be something more. Butch DeConcini and George Paglieri of the Brooklyn and Staten Island families are also backing what most think is a simple, working class, Italian American girl, reminding retired Chief Frank Cubitoso of a similar arrangement the now deceased Corrado "Junior" Soprano had with his nephew and Meadow's father, Tony. Everyone is on edge as suspicions rise amongst the New York families and the FBI, meanwhile the body count begins to pile up. They watch as the intelligent, smiling and gentlemanly twins, Justin and Jason Blundetto, paralegals at the firm, shadow Meadow wherever she goes. They watch as Carmela Weglur keeps herself shut-in and at a distance from her own daughter, traumatized by some unknown horror. And finally they watch as the young woman brings back an old friend from the old country who is known to have a propensity for sheer violence, sending things spinning out of control; All of which begs the question, "Who is Meadow Soprano, and what does she really want?"
