When Barney and Red were in highschool they dated. One day barney had to go back to turkey for "unknown reasons". Barney had left without telling Red, so Red was heartbroken when he found out. Years later red was working for the sky media when a certain Turkish man starts to work for the sky media. Now red has to work with someone he thought he'd never want to see again
