Alright, here's the tale. We all know that story about the Dance of the Dragon, and how Aegon and Rhaenyra fought each other to sit on the iron throne. However, in this book, there is another candidate for the Iron Throne. In this story, Daemon and Rhae Royce have a son named Rhaenor. He was different than most people, he was a prodigy at swordsmanship, smart in politics, and well-liked by all. However, despite everything; the relationship with his parents was tense as both Daemon and Rhae would try and mold him into their image. But he refused to follow their way and decided to become his own person.
While he did love his parents the relationship he had with them began to strain when he was ten. His mother and the Vale lords tried to betrothed him to Lady Jeyne Arryn, however, Rhaenor refused the betrothed and went with Daemon to the capital. Rhaenor would spend most of his time in King's Landing, where he became friends with his cousin Rhaenyra and her friend Alicent Hightower.
During 112AC, King Viserys, who was unable to produce an heir of his own, decided to name his nephew Daemon's son Rhaenor Targaryen as his heir. Something that surprised everyone, including both Daemon and Rhaenyra. When Rhaenor asked Viserys why he was chosen to be heir to the throne, Viserys stated that Rhaenor was the only person in the kingdom he could trust to be honest with him. While he was Daemon's son he knew that he was different from both his parents combined.
